Wauzeka Steuben School District
Matt Wermich
Wauzeka, WI
Date of award: 7/31/2003
Award amount: $5,250
This grant application requests support to install 6 PV panels constructed as an awning to provide shade for a window on the science building of Wauzeka Steuben Public School. The awning will be in the courtyard and be highly visible, yet out of reach to students. Given the safety and maintenance issues of a battery system in a school environment, their PV system will be a Grid Intertie Battery Free System. The initial array of 6-165w PV panels would be racked with all required and recommended grounding and safety interrupts. They will mount the inverter inside the science lab for easier monitoring by faculty and student researchers.
