Room Air Conditioner ENERGY STAR qualified room air conditioners use at least 10% less energy than conventional models. Replacing your 10 year old unit with an ENERGY STAR qualified model saves an average of $25 a year.

When buying a room air conditioner, there are two important decisions you can make to determine how comfortable you'll be and how much you'll spend on electricity:

• Is it the correct size for the room(s) you'll be cooling?
• Is it ENERGY STAR qualified?

The right sized unit will be more efficient, decrease humidity and provide greater comfort. A room air conditioner that's too big for the area it's supposed to cool will perform less efficiently and less effectively than one that's sized properly for the room.
