American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) - Advanced Energy Design Guides
ASHRAE, in collaboration with the American Institute of Architects, the Illuminating Engineering
Society of North America, and the U.S. Green Building Council and with support from the Department
of Energy, has developed a series of design guides that target sensible approaches to achieving
30% energy savings over ASHRAE 90.1 - 1999. Currently, design guides for small retail buildings,
small office buildings, and K-12 schools are available. Electronic versions of these design
guides are available for free at:
www.ashrae.org/freeaedg. Additional
guides for small warehouses, highway lodging, existing buildings, and big box retail are planned.
