Motors & VFD Technology

Because improving energy efficiency contributes to the state's economic development, Focus now offers financial incentives to businesses installing NEMA Premium efficiency motors.

Why energy efficient motors?
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, motor-driven equipment accounts for 64 percent of the electricity consumed by U.S. industry. NEMA Premium motors are designed to save energy and money by:
  • Reducing operating costs; NEMA motors reduce electrical demand over standard motors by up to 18 percent.
  • Increasing reliability; NEMA motors often carry longer warranties.
  • Increasing productivity; NEMA motors generate less heat than standard motors, reducing downtime and maintenance costs
  • Reducing carbon footprint; increased energy efficiency means NEMA Premium motors use less electricity and reduce power plant emissions
